Children of Congo fundraising dance July 28 The Daily Advertiser:Monday, July 23, 2007

Lafayette, LA(July 23, 2007) - A dance to benefit the Children of Congo Foundation is scheduled for Saturday.

Lafayette High School student Alicia Neto is hosting a “Back in Time” black and white dance for high school age students from 8-11 p.m. July 28 at Grace Presbyterian Church, 518 Roselawn Blvd., Lafayette. Admission is $7. Black and white party dress is preferred.

Proceeds go to the Children of Congo Foundation founded by Pauline Neto, a French Immersion teacher at Paul Breaux Middle School.

Pauline Neto, born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, fled in 1989 for political reasons. She returns to the Congo for four months starting in August to instruct teachers, put a roof on the school and provide tuition for needy students.
